Membership Eligibility

All active-duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces and all who have served since December 7, 1941, are eligible to join The American Legion, provided they have been honorably discharged or are still serving. Because eligibility dates remain open, anyone who has served federal active duty during these times may apply for membership today.
