Join a Brotherhood That Never Ends

You Served Our Nation… Now Continue the Mission at Home

The Mission Doesn’t End When the Uniform Comes Off

Leaving uniform doesn’t mean leaving behind service. For many veterans, leaving the military and beginning civilian life can feel like something is missing: a lack of community, purpose, and mission. That’s where PFC Ruth E. Warlick American Legion Post 14 in Southlake comes in. The mission goes on at Post 14 right from here, in Southlake and Northeast Tarrant County.

Even if you are fresh off active duty or decades removed from a Friday night formation, Post 14 is a place where your leadership, experience, and values still count. It’s not just about remembering your service, it’s about building on that same commitment, joining with others who traveled that same path, and making an enduring impact in the community you call home.

What Makes Post 14 Special?

PFC Ruth E. Warlick Post 14 is not your average veterans’ organization; it’s a brotherhood. In honor of a woman who has served her country well, the post continues to provide outstanding service in dedication and support.

At Post 14, we combine the story and tradition of the best military brotherhood with an ingrained love for service. You will find veterans from every branch and generation, Vietnam to the Gulf, Iraq to Afghanistan, and beyond – all coming together for one purpose: to support each other and serve Southlake.

Camaraderie & Connection That Feels Like Family

Nobody really understands what it’s like to serve, if we’re being honest. You will be surrounded by people at Post 14 who do. You’ll hear the stories, laugh, and even cry together. It’s a place where you can be yourself, no questions asked.

For many members, the brotherhood they cultivate at Post 14 is as deep a brotherhood as they experience in uniform. From lighthearted coffee klatches to organized volunteer endeavors, the connections form swiftly and cut deep.

Still Serving, But Now It’s Your Community

Post 14’s members think of service as something that doesn’t end at discharge, but rather changes form. Our members are active in supporting veterans in need, mentoring children, helping our first responders, and volunteering when our Southlake neighbors call.

Here is just a small sampling of the way we serve:

  • Veteran Support: Assisting veterans through the process of claiming benefits they earned working in the military.
  • Youth Programs: Helps Southlake students through scholarships, mentoring, and leadership programs such as Boys State.
  • Community Support: Recognizing local heroes, helping families in need, and contributing to community events that make the region stronger.

Your time and presence, your perspective, matter more than you realize. And (next time) you show up, you are making Southlake stronger.

Leadership, Growth, and Impact

At Post 14, you get as much or as little of the action as you want. Several members hold, or have held office within the post and or regional committees. Others attend one event annually. There is no one-size-fits-all engagement level, just a common resolve to keep serving in some way.

Opportunities include:

  • Organizing events and fundraisers
  • Guiding or helping in the Southlake and surrounding community through our youth programs and veterans affairs
  • Supporting fellow veterans through mentorship
  • Act as a delegate for Post 14 in citywide or regional veteran councils

You have acquired leadership qualities from your experiences. Here, you’ll keep inspiring others, whether that’s quietly or out in front.
